This is a bonus track. It came about one day when John was over for a recording session. Tammy Rondeau showed up for something and we invited her to record with us. I had an idea for some music and I immediately started putting tracks together while John wrote lyrics on the cover to a puzzle box.
Lyics by John Lister & Tammy Rondeau
Hey baby I’m sorry I’m late, I thought I came home too soon
You left me here with the laundry and children while flirtin’ out in the barroom
I don’t know why I’m staying here with you, constant cussin’ and fightin’ is all we do
I guess it’s cuz we don’t want to be alone, I say we call a lawyer, just pick up the phone
What’s wrong with me makin’ love to you, it’s part of your wifely duty
You stagger home with booze on your breath, out the door with the wifely duty
I don’t know why I’m staying here with you, constant cussin’ and fightin’ is all we do
I guess it’s cuz we don’t want to be alone, I say we call a lawyer, just pick up the phone
I guess you’re right, I just gotta go, I really need to be free
You say you’re leavin’ and gotta be free, that’s not love can’t you see
I don’t know why I’m staying here with you, constant cussin’ and fightin’ is all we do
I guess it’s cuz we don’t want to be alone, I say we call a lawyer, just pick up the phone
